Lang Lang
It’s really amazing how many different kinds of beauty there are in the world. Just last night I witnessed something that was so dazzling it made my hair stand on end. My husband and I attended a concert with the highly-acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

The point of the story: Music is a major source of inspiration and motivation for any design work I do. Recently, while working on a nursery, I had Lang Lang blasted over the speakers in my office. The soft yet strong keys are soothing and provide me with the perfect setting to create.
Below are a few rooms I designed while listening to classical music.

Romantic holiday decor
I know. I know. I’m a hopeless romantic. I just can’t seem to help myself, especially around the holidays. I think it’s the alluring aroma of lit candles and the visual of a crackling fire.
So, for this season, I am going to focus on the romantic side of holiday decorating for your home. I am not really sure where this little adventure in blogging about romantic holiday décor is going to take me, but I hope you enjoy!
Bewitched follow-up
Just about every day I receive an email asking for more information about the beloved Bewitched House. So, many emails that is hard to keep up! As a follow up to my post Bewitched, I wanted to give the website where I found all of my information. www.1164.com
Pink Trim
The perfect brown
Recently, it seemed that everyone was asking me the question “what is the perfect brown for my bedroom?” Knowing that brown is a difficult color to choose off an inch by inch square paint sample, I went on the search for the perfect brown. I started with my beloved and trusted Benjamin Moore deck. Fanning out the deck, I narrowed it down to two browns. I ordered paint samples online (www.benjaminmoore.com) and painted them on white cardboard. My reward was finding the perfect brown for any bedroom. Not too red and not too espresso, I discovered Middlebury brown HC-68.
Luckily, I had a client that was excited about using brown and was able to paint her walls with the same delicious color. It turned out beautiful!
Are you ready for the 4th?
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” goes the popular refrain. Of course, this little jingle is referring to Christmas, but for me those words can only apply to the 4th of July. I am, after all, unendingly patriotic. So, as a tribute to my favorite holiday, I am posting my favorite interiors, crafts and other special things that I love about the 4th of July this week.

Swedish Interiors
I absolutely love this book!
A must read for interior designers, or anyone who loves simple, clean and classic interiors. I typically don’t read interior designs books because I am easily distracted by their colorful, glossy photos and they just don’t hold my attention. However, the book Swedish Interiors was different. It read like an exciting story filled with intriguing little tidbits of Sweden.
