This past year I was extremely honored to be in the cookbook Designed for Cooking in the South. The cookbook holds a special collection of recipes from designers belonging to the respected national organization, American Society of Interior Designers. The food was wonderful! Legendary events cratered and did the flower décor which was fantastic.

Margaret Long Designs has recently been nominated as one of ADAC’s (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) ‘rising stars’ and was selected along with other design professionals across the South East. A gala event will be tomorrow night at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. So excited and will post the details soon.

I know, strange name, right? Spoonflower might have a bizarre name, but this an awesome website for all you fabric hounds out there. The site www.spoonflower.com offers a chance to make your own fabric, or buy unique fabrics created by other people. Overall, the price for this is relatively inexpensive, and the website offers all types of crafty ways to use fabric.

A new book by Betty Lou Philips promotes an exciting look into French design. On a recent trip to Boxwoods in Atlanta, a must if passing through town, I met the author and designer of the book French Impressions by chance. She was a lovely as her book.
The really cool thing about this book, besides the beautiful interiors, is that the whole hardback is just one house. I appreciated the idea of having a single book devoted to the use of just one home.
